In this situation, it wasn't reasonable. When the discussion of an office manager's working hours came up, their boss had a different idea of the scope of their job than they did. Is 50-55 hours per week a reasonable expectation for a manager in an office job? Not to most people. And if that's the requirement, it should surely be made clear when you sign on for the job.
